About Alexander
Alexander Gouletas is an internationally recognized visual artist, photographer, and creative director based in Chicago. His works speak to the inherent material nature and referential capacity of photography, sculpting the medium into conceptual abstract installations.
Recently Alexander’s work has featured in Critical Mass 2025, Vogue Greece, the International Photography Awards, American Photography 40. He has been exhibited at Forum 301, the University of West Georgia, the Hellenic Museum of Michigan, and the Atlanta Photography Group.
Alexander’s editorial and documentary work has been published in Chicago Magazine, Propublica, Reuters, the Chicago Sun-Times, Crain’s, Business insider, the Triibe. He has been interviewed by the Chicago Tribune for his opinions on politics and activism, and has been shortlisted for the Carmignac Photojournalism Award.
Alexander served on the board of the Chicago Photography Center, and taught photography classes and advanced studio lighting.
He works as an editorial photographer and commercial art director where he takes portraits of industry leaders, influential cultural luminaries, and directs photo shoots for international campaigns.
Alexander is a current resident in the 26/27 Artist in Public School cohort.
